Some of the basic principles of Jainism are:

  1. To have a strong belief that the world has no meaning, the pleasures are also limited and meaningless, and not to crave for such pleasures. To understand the nature of the soul and happiness and sorrow are one’s income itself. To have a feeling of harmony with all the souls.
  2. Jainism says that the soul is bound by karmas, just as gold is found in an alloy form in the mines,in the same way mundane souls are found along with the karma bondage from times immemorial.
  3. The man is not perfect is based on the above principle. The imperfectness in man is attributed to the existence of karma in his soul. The human soul is in a position to attain perfection and in that true state it is endowed with four characteristics, viz.Ananta virya or Ananta sukha or infinite happiness, infinite perception or faith, infinite knowledge, infinite power and infinite bliss.
  4. Jainism does not attribute the creation of universe to God.But at the same time jainism says that the path shown by god of salvation is true and ultimate way of attaining moksha.
  5. God does not give happiness or sorrow to any soul,it is the fruit of the karmas done by the soul.
  6. Jeevdaya or mercy over the living beings is one of the salient feature of jainism.
  7. The three main principles of Jainism are Ahimsa(non-violence),Aparigraha(non-possessiveness),Anekantvada(non-absolutism).

Or simple answer is as follows:
