Iron has a very solubility in circum-neutral pH,so you will need an acidic solution such as HCL or Nitric acid. To completely dissolve iron into HCL,we need to heat at 100⁰C for 24h or more. The final solution will have a light green.

To completely dissolve iron into HCL,we need to heat at 100⁰C for 24h or more.

Teflon beaker or strong materials are recommended to use for dissolving iron powder,and heating solution.If you don't have heater, Fe powder can dissolve in HCL, but take the time (atleast 4days or more than a week,it depends on desired concentration of iron that we would like to make)

The final solution will have a light green.
