  • As we would know the smallest 2 digit number would be 10 because it has only tence and the units place , there is no hundred. The next 2 digit number is 11 which as we all know is larger than 10. And the number before 10 is 9 which is smaller than 10 but is not s 2 digit number.

  • Next the largest 5 digit number is 99999. This is because the number that comes after it is 100000 which is larger than 99999 but is not a 5 digit number. Whereas the number that comes before 99999 cannot be greater than it.

  • So as asked in the question the product of the greatest 5 digit number and the smallest 2 digit number is

 \sf{10 \times 99999 = 999990}
