Write the quality of people a brave soldiers
Answers
Answer:
To be a good combat soldier, you need a lot more than just good health, physical fitness and some courage.
The most cherished “qualities” have to do with your mental capabilities:
Agility:
You need to be able to react quickly. This doesn’t only mean having good reflexes, but also to be a quick thinker. The situation on the battlefield is always changing and you have to make the right decisions in a minimum amount of time.
Adaptation:
In combat, there are always situations that you have never encountered in training and to master them you have to adjust fast. Never fought in snow? Well, here you are. Don’t complain and make the best of it!
Flexibility:
The army often makes you lazy. You learn one thing and “this is the way it’s always done”. In combat, however, you must be able to switch your tactics. If one thing doesn’t work, you throw it overboard and try something new.
Initiative:
A soldier with initiative is worth twice as much as any other. To be able to take things in your own hands, to make decisions, although no one told you to do so, is a priceless quality.
A soldier who has the above mentioned qualities is very good, but there are individuals who take it one step further. To be one of the best, you need a few more things:
Creativity:
Especially in an unconventional war scenario, there is no playbook. To prevail in such a situation demands more than adaptation and flexibility. You need to be able to find a new solution from scratch, to create something nobody ever thought about.
Curiosity:
There is more out there than the mission. A soldier who can look beyond the end of his nose will be able to gain information and insights that will sooner or later contribute to the mission. Soldiers who try to pick up the local customs and languages during their deployment are good examples. Their knowledge might not be valuable for the next mission, but in the long run, it will pay off.
Unconventional thinking:
Sometimes, you have to do the exact opposite thing of what you have been taught in training. Left becomes right and right becomes wrong. And doing nothing is sometimes the best action. A lot of soldiers struggle with those and other elements of unconventional thinking. However, if you are able to embrace and accept these principles of unconventional warfare, you’ll find yourself on a completely different level.
Intuition:
The best and most experienced soldiers have gained abilities which are almost beyond nature. They are able to “sniff” out ambushes, anticipate enemy attacks and somehow they “know” where the enemy has hidden the mines and booby traps. These guys are on the top of the ladder. They are the ones who often save the lives of their comrades.
