Solution :-

Dividing y⁴ +y³ - y² + y - 1 by y³ + 1 we get

y³+1) y⁴ +y³ - y² + y - 1 (y + 1

y⁴ + y

y³ - y² - 1

y³ + 1

(-y² - 2)

therefore,

→ Remainder = (-y² - 2)

→ Quotient = (y + 1)

To Find : quotient and remainder

Solution:

                 y + 1

 y³+1​    _|   y⁴+y³-y²+y  -1  |_

                 y⁴           + y

               __________

                      y³  -y²      -1

                      y³          +1

                  ___________

                           -y²   - 2

Quotient =  y + 1

Remainder =    -y²   - 2
