Total surface area of a cylinder, T.S.A = 2πr(h + r)

curved surface area of a cylinder , C.S.A = 2πrh

Ratio of total surface area to the curved surface area of a cylinder :

T.S.A / C.S.A = 2πr(h + r)/2πrh

T.S.A / C.S.A = (h + r) / h

T.S.A :  C.S.A = (h + r) : h

Hence, the ratio of total surface area to the curved surface area of a cylinder is (h + r) : h .
