The reaction of So2 with H2S.

                      2H_{2}S + So_{2}   ⇒    2H_{2}O + 3S

The reaction of So2 with FeCl2

                  4FeCl_{2} + So_{2} + 4HCl   ⇒    4FeCl_{2} + 2H_{2}O +S

Explanation:

  • when the hydrogen sulfide (H_{2} S) reacts with sulfur dioxide (So_{2}) then it gives hydrogen dioxide (HO_{2}) and solid sulphur (3S).
  • similarly, when (So_{2}) reacts with (FeCl_{2}) then it gives (FeCl_{3})  and sulphur as products.
  • in both reactions water (H_{2}O) comes along as products
