Causes of Second Carnatic War:

The cause of the second Carnatic War was the interference of the English and the French in politics of the native rulers with a view to enhancing their political power and area of influence. Asaf Jah, Nizam-ul-mulk of Hyderabad, died in May 1748.

The results of the Second Carnatic War:

The French were squarely defeated by the British and their aim of establishing a French empire in India was effectively destroyed. The war resulted in the French influence being restricted to Pondicherry.
