Write the reason for the following:

(a)A sharp nail pierces more easily through wood than a blunt nail.

(b) We use towels on hand while carrying a bag with a handle made of thread.

(c) A camel moves easily through a desert than a horse.​

Answer:

a) As we know pressure(P=F/A) i.e.less the area more will be the pressure.The surface area of a sharp nail is less than that of a blunt nail. Hence having more pressure, a sharp nail pierces more easily through wood than a blunt nail.

c) As we know pressure(P=F/A) i.e.less the area more will be the pressure. The foot of camel is wider than that of a horse and less pressure is applied on the sand as a result, the foot of camel do not sink in sand. So, a camel moves easily through a desert than a horse.​
