Question

Write the relation between Celsius and Kelvin teperature.(explain)

solution

The common unit of measuring temperature (like melting point, boiling point etc. ) is 'degree Celsius' which in short form is written as °C

The melting point of ice on Celsius scale is of temperature is 0°C and the boling point of water on Celsius scale is 100°C.

The other scale of temperature which is used by the scientists mainly for research work is called Kelvin Scale.

The melting point of ice on Kelvin Scale is 273 K and the boiling point on Kelvin is 373 K.

 \sf{0 \degree C= 273K}

 { \underline{ \boxed{ \sf{Temp. \:  on \:  the \:  Kelvin \:  Scale \:  = Temp.  \: on  \: Celsius  \: scale + 273}}}}

*NOTE- : This relation can be used to convert a celsius temperature into Kelvin temperature or Kelvin temperature into celsius temperature.
