The most common unit to measure pressure, the pascal is the force of one newton per square metre.

Let's look what this means: imagine filling a clear bottle with air. The air molecules are moving slow, banging around the bottle. The amount of impact they have - that is the force they exert on the bottle’s walls is the air pressure. Now if we add heat, we give the molecules energy, and they move faster. Moving faster means bumping into the walls of the bottle harder and more often. The combination of frequency and strength of impact - the force exerted - is an increase in air pressure in the bottle.
