Hey friend
here is your answer

Wave velocity of a wave is the distance covered by a wave in one second, while the frequency of the wave is the distance covered by a wave in the time period of one vibration of the particle of the wave.

Both of the wave velocity and frequency are the distance covered by the wave.
It the time period of one vibration of the particle of the wave is one second then we can say that frequency of the wave is the wave velocity.

glad to help you
hope it helps
thank you.

Consider a wave of length λ, frequency f moving with velocity v,

➩  ᴠ= \frac{ᴅɪនᴛᴀɴᴄᴇ  \: ᴛʀᴀᴠᴇʟʟᴇᴅ  \: ʙʏ  \: ᴡᴀᴠᴇ }{ ᴛɪᴍᴇ  \: ᴛᴀᴋᴇɴ }

Ꮩ =  \frac{λ}{τ}  \\  Ꮩ=  λ.\frac{1}{τ}  \\ ⟹ Ꮩ=λ.f
