Answer

The relation between refractive index and wavelength is that they are inversely proportional to each other.

     \lambda = \dfrac{\lambda_0}{n}

where λ₀ is the wavelength of the light in vacuum

          n is the refractive index of the medium

          λ is the wavelength in the medium.

When the light passes through a medium the wavelength of the light decreases.
