PHYSICAL BIOLOGY DIVERSITY

CELLS

The structural and functional unit of life. Literally, whenever we come across the topic of cell,we witness this point but what does it mean? Structural unit refers to the fact that it is the basic unit of life. Functional part means that it carries out each and every function of the body

On the basis of number of cells, they can be:

  • Unicellular Organisms:Made up of only one cell. Capable of independent existence.
  • Multicellular Organisms: Many cells constitute the body. Show great diversity regarding life and are the very reason of further evolution

TISSUES

★Cells having mutual function and common origin assemble together to form tissues.

★Different tissues in the human body are: Epithelial Tissue,Connective Tissue, Muscular Tissue and Neural Tissue.

★Tissues perform a wide variety of functions from conduction of materials to protection to performing rigorous tasks. They form the crux of the human body

ORGANS

Assemblage of different tissues is known as Organ. It is estimated that there are 78 organs in the human body. They are made up of several types of tissues, for example, the small intestine is made up of columnar epithelia and certain muscular tissues.

It is to be acknowledged and noted that any organism can exist and continue to live because of the proper coordination between all these above mentioned units
