so mainly the French society consisted of 3 Estates where the 1st 2 Estatesthat is clergy and nobility enjoyed all the privliges. so some philosophers from the 1st and 2nd Estate thought that there should be equal rights given to the 3rd estate. so then these philosophers started writing many powerful books criticizing the government. so as some philosophers took part in helping the 3rd Estate this helped in changing the French society

philosophers like rousuue and others supported the 3 estate people as they were not given proper rights .they wrote many books and articles one of them was, the social contract. they gave many ideas about direct democracy and separation of powers like legislative,exexutive and judiciary.
