Salivary amylase is an enzyme which is secreted from the salivary gland, which helps to break down the complex sugar ( starch) into water soluble molecules ( glucose ) during the time of ingestion and in small intestine also.

salivary amylase performs in primary digestion of carbohydrates like
by using the amylase we can digest the carbohydrates in our boccal cavity and the secondary in intestine
