given

a(x²+1) - (a²+1)x = 0

solution

ax²+a- a²x-x=0

rearranging

ax²-x -a²x+a=0

x( ax-1) - a(ax-1)=0

(x-a) (ax-1)= 0

x=a or x= 1/a

these are two roots
