Route followed by nerve impulses in the production of reflex action are as follows:-

stimulus - it take message from surrounding.

receptor - they are sense organ which carry nerve impulse to sensory neuron.

sensory neuron - it carry impulse to spinal cord.

spinal cord - it give response to motor neuron.

motor neuron- it carry message from spinal cord to effector.

response- the action performed by sense organ as response.

hope it helps

the reflex arc- path taken by a impulse during reflex action

1) receptors sense the impulse
2) they send it to sensory neuron and sensory neuron sends it to really neuron
3)the relay neuron decodes the impulse and sends it to motor neuron in the spinal cord and then to the brain.
4) the brain sends a message to motor neuron to get away from that object or situation (for example touching a hot pot).
5) the motor neurons sends a message to muscles and command them to contract or leave the situation (eg- in case of hot object it contracts our hand muscles and we remove our hand) and we get rid of this situation.

I hope it will help you out
