there is no such rule but the first letter is always capital and the 2 is always small in an element .
While wriring of complound keep in mind that the name of the element shd be written as it is .
For example:
NaCl
here Na is sodium
Cl is chlorine
but if u hd written NaCL
it would be like , C is different L is differnt .
L would have bcm Lithium
So its the main rule.
