The study of thermodynamics is about heat and energy.

The first law explains that heat cannot be destroyed or created but can only be transformed from one kind and object to another.

The second law however, states that whatever we do is inherently wasteful and there are some irreversible processes in the universe as well.

This law basically states the limitations of universe itself and is about degeneration and decay.
