★ Set : A well defined collection of distinct objects is called a set .

★ Method of representing a set :

a). Roster / Tabular / Listed form

b). Set Builder form

★ Roster form :

→ Whole description of the elements are enclosed within braces { } .

Solution :

Here ,

The given set in set-builder form is ;

P = { x : 2x - 5 < 7 , x € W }

Now ,

Let's find the elements of set P .

Thus ,

=> 2x - 5 < 7 , x € W

=> 2x < 7 + 5 , x € W

=> 2x < 12 , x € W

=> x < 12/2 , x € W

=> x < 6 , x € W

=> x = 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5

( The whole numbers less than 6 are 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 )

Hence ,

The given set in tabular form will be ; P = { 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 }
