Answer:

A fire extinguisher is a portable apparatus which is often used to put out accidental fire. It contains a substance that cools the burning material, deprives the flame of oxygen or interferes with the chemical reactions occuring in the flame. This extinguishes the fire.

How it is used:-when the knob of the fire extinguisher is struck , the acid bottle breaks and the sodium bicarbonate solution comes into contact with the concentrated sulphuric acid which produces carbon dioxide. As it is heavier than air it forms a blanket and cuts off the contact of air with the burning surface.

Chemical reaction :-

2 NaHCO3 (3 should be down) + H2SO4( 2,4 should be down) gives Na2SO4(2,4 should be down) + 2H2O ( second 2 should be down) +2CO2 ( second two should be down)....
