The river Indus rises in Tibet near lake Mansarowar. It enters India in Ladakh district. It's tributaries are Zaskar, Shyok,Hunza.
The Indus flows through Baltistan and Gilgit and emerges from the mountains at Attock. With a length of 2900km,it is one of the longest Rivers. It has very gentle slope.
