The storage devices are primary and secondary storage.

The storage device has the capacity to hold information either temporarily or permanently. The best example of primary storage is RAM and secondary storage is the hard drive. There are also three types of media to store data and they are magnetic, optical, and solid-state storage devices. in magnetic storage devices, consists of large hybrid hard drives. For eg. hard disk, Tape cassette, etc. The optical storage device uses lasers and light to read and write data. For e.g. CD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD+R, etc. The solid-state storage devices are replaced by solid-state and examples are USB, Memory cards, etc.
