Answer:
Men wear is all standardized, predictable. The pants ‘button’ is always a single way (button on the right, slit to slip it into on the left). Pants pockets are pronounced, and have ‘enough space’. Button down shirts have a pocket on the left breast, sometimes right as well, but this is less common. And suit jackets are riddled with pockets.
Women wear is… all over the place. Some pants have pockets, most don’t. The ‘button’ could go either way, in fact there used to be a standard that the ‘button’ had to be inverted from men’s wear! And this is still quite prominent with the older generation (depending on where you live). The zippers are all different (some more stable, some flimsy, some on the front, some on the back, some on the sides).
The blouses are all either too short, so exact in length that bending over or stretching is a game of peek-a-boo, or so short the midriff is permanently exposed. There are far more ruffles than tomboys can get annoyed with. The cuts of tops are all different too. Some are cut lower, others higher, some expose more back, others less. Then there are the ‘wide cuts’ where most of the shoulder is exposed. Spaghetti straps, ribbon straps, no straps.
Then there’s colours. Typically men wear comes in bland colours and you need to go to expensive stores to buy brighter colours (for button down shirts mean to go with suits, I mean). Whereas women wear needs to come in that variation by definition.
And don’t even get me started on shoes! Heels, no heels. Open-toe or not. Open shoe or not. Up to the ankle, up to the knee, sandal. Colours vary far more with women’s shoes as well. And there’s the ‘frill or no frill’ as well. Are there decorative flowers on it, or not, glitters or not, colour patterns or not… etc. (this referring only to women’s shoes).
