Answer:

(a) _6724

Let _ be x

Greatest digit = Sum of all numbers

6+7+2+4+x

19+x

Closest multiple of 3=21 ,24

We will take 24

24-19

= 5

Smallest number = 21-19

=2

Same as in ( b)

smallest

a)_6724(=19)

so,the smallest digit will be 2 because if we add 1 then it will be 20 and it isn't in the table of 3.

∴ the answer is 26724(=21) = 2+6+7+2+4=21

b)4765_2(=24)

so,the smallest digit is 0 because that no. is already in the table of 3.

∴ the answer is 476502(=24) = 4+7+6+5+0+2=24

greatest

a)_6724(=19)

so, the greatest digit starts from 9. But if we add 9 then it will be 28 and 28 is not in the table of 3. So, we have to take 8 then it will be 27.

∴ the answer is 86724(=27) = 8+6+7+2+4=27

b)4765_2

so,the greatest digit will be 9 because 33 is in the table of 9.

∴ the answer is 476592(=33)  = 4+7+6+5+9+2=33
