SNELL'S LAW

__________________________________________

Snell's law of refraction states that, for a given pair of media and for the light of a given color, the ratio of the sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction is a constant, which is known as the refractive index of the second medium with respect to the first medium. or

Snell's law states that refractive index of a given medium2 to that of medium1 is equal to the ratio of speed of light in  medium1 to that of medium2.

sin i/sin r = constant

Applications: A refractometer uses snell's law to determine the refractive indices of certain liquids. Used in the candy making industry..

Hello user.

It states the the ratio of sine of incident angle and sine of refracted angle is a constant equal to the refractive index of medium 2 with respect to medium 1.
