- Adolescents are people in the age group 11-19.
- It is almost impossible to tell whether they are child or adult.
- It is a stage were a person is no more a child and not yet an adult.
- A person is an adolescent when he/she reaches puberty.

SOCIAL CHARACTERISTICS.

- Teen years are fun years.People have more fun at these stage.
- In this stage,people usually like to interact with people and make friends.
- It is a stage when we meet a lot of temporary people.
- In society, they play a major role as they are the future.

PHYSCOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Teenage is a situation where they face many dilemmas.
- This stage is the stage of life when we feel attraction towards opposite gender (Well, that usually an infatuation)
- Teenagers are those who face a lot of stress as they actually don't know what to do.
- In this age, they usually feel a detachment towards family as they find out ward friends more interesting.
- This is also a stage where people think too much bad thoughts..but it's just because of the age.

➧ Puberty➫ The stage of life when the body becomes capable of reproduction.

♦ It is the time in life when a boy or girl becomes sexually mature.

♦ Boys usually start Puberty 2 years later than girls.

♦ Both girls & boys can expect to gain weight as well as height during Puberty. 

➧ Adolescence➫ The period of transition from a child to an adult.

♦ It is a period of life with specific health & developmental needs & rights.

♦ It describes the years between ages 13 and 19 & can be considered the transitional stage from childhood to adulthood.

❱ The male hormone testosterone beings to be released by the testes.

❱ This cause the sex organs -- testes & the penis -- to develop completely & the testes to start producing sperm.

[2] In Girls:-

❱ The ovaries start producing the female hormone Progesterone.

❱ The ovaries enlarge & start releasing eggs.

❶❫ Increase in height:-

❱ Increase in height during adolescence brought about by elongation of the bones of the arms & legs.

❱ In boys:- The shoulder become broader and the chest become wider.

❱ In Girls:- The pelvic region widen, hip broaden, breast develop & increase in size. Mammary gland developed inside the breast.

❸❫ Development of Hairs:-

❱ Hair start growing in the Armpits and in the public area.

❹❫ Changes in Voice:-

❱ Larynx becomes bigger in boys than in girls. This is why boys develop a deep voice where girls have a high pitched voice.

❺❫ Increase of Sweat Glands:-

❱ Sweat gland leads to increase sweet and obtain resulting in body odour.
The skin becomes oily & lead to appearance of acne & pimples on the face.

❻❫ Sexual Feelings:-

❱ Sexual maturity causes boys & girls to become interested in & attracted to the opposite sex.
