The green fodder can be fed to milch cattle to boost the milk production of a considerable extent; “South African Maize� is a best suited variety for fodder. The crop has to be harvested when the grains are in milky stage, This variety is supposed to have Lactogenic effect hence especially suited for milch cattle. The digest ability of maize fodder is higher than sorghum, bajra and other non-leguminous forage crops.

• The maize seed can be initiated with 'dibbling or drilling method'. The sowing method purely depends on type of maize, varieties and the condition of the farming.
• The sowing method happens in 5-6 cm depth of soil. The seed is sown in 5-6  cm depth of soil. Maize is zea mays, a member of the grass family poaceae. The little maize is eaten directly by humans. They yield the kernels and seeds.
