Answer:

The first strong evidence of multicellular animals in the fossil record occurs roughly 630 million years ago, during a geological time period called the Ediacaren. ... For example, one theory postulates that a sudden rise in atmospheric oxygen levels facilitated the rapid evolution of animal species.

Stages of Human Evolution

The following are the stages of human evolution:

  • Dryopithecus

These are considered the ancestors of  man and the apes. They lived in China, Africa, Europe and India. The genus Dryopithecus refers to the oak wood monkeys. When Dryopithecus lived, the tropical lowlands  it inhabited was heavily forested, so its members may have been predominantly herbivorous.

  • Ramapithecus

Its first remains were discovered in the Shivalik mountain range in Punjab and later in Africa and Saudi Arabia. They lived in open grassland. Two tests confirm its hominid status:  Thickened  enamel, sturdy jaws, and shorter canines. Use of hands for eating and defense and extrapolations from upright posture.

  • Australopithecus

The fossil of this genus was first discovered in 1924 in South Africa. They lived on the ground, used stones as weapons, and walked upright. They were 4 feet tall and weighed between 60 and 80 pounds.

  • Homo Erectus

The first fossil of Homo Erectus was found on Java in 1891. These were referred to as Pithecanthropus Erectus. These were thought to be the missing link between humans and apes. Another discovery  in China was  Peking man. This specimen had large cranial capacities and is believed to have lived in communities.Homo erectus used quartz tools. Tools made of bone and wood were also discovered. There is evidence of a collective hunt. There are also references to the use of fire. Homo erectus is believed to live in caves.

  • Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis

Homo Erectus evolved into Homo Sapiens. During evolution, two subspecies of Homo sapiens were identified: Homo sapiens Neanderthals and Homo sapiens. The skull volume of the Neanderthal grew from 1,200 to 1,600 cubic centimetres. A few small hand axes had also been discovered. This species of hominid could hunt big names like mammoths.

  • Homo Sapiens

The remains of Homo Sapiens were first discovered in Europe and given the name Cro-Magnon. In these, the jaws are quite reduced, the chin of modern man appeared, and the skull was rounded. His skull volume was about 1350 cm^{3} . They gathered food by hunting.  Art was first created during this period.
