- Click File > Open.
- Double-click This PC. (In Word 2013, double-click Computer).
- Browse to the Custom Office Templates folder that's under My Documents.
- Click your template, and click Open.
- Make the changes you want, then save and close the template.

steps are as follows:
1.Start OO Writer and create a new file.
2.Apply desired styles and formatting for the template.
3.Click on File → Templates → Save option.
4.Type desired filename, choose the category of the template and click on save button.
