To pin tiles to the start menu in windows 10 , we have to follow the following steps :

Step 1 : To pin an app to the right panel of the Start menu as a tile, find the app in the center-left panel of the Start menu and right-click it.

Step 2 : Click Pin to Start, or drag and drop it into the tile section of the Start menu.

Step 3 : Now the tile has been pinned to the start menu .

Step 4 : To unpin a tile, right-click the tile and click Unpin from Start .

To turn off live tiles , we need to follow the following steps :

Step 1 : Open the Start menu.

Step 2 : Type gpedit.msc and hit enter.

Step 3 : Navigate to Local Computer Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > Notifications.

Step 4 : Double-click the Turn off tile notifications entry on the right and select enabled in the window that opens.

Step 5 : Click OK and close the editor.
