Answer:

1. Click in a cell to the left or right of where you want to add a column. Under Table Tools, on the Layout tab, do one of the following: To add a column to the left of the cell, click Insert Left in the Rows and Columns group. To add a column to the right of the cell, click Insert Right in the Rows and Columns group.

2. You can add a row above or below the cursor position.

(a) Click where you want in your table to add a row or column and then click the Layout tab (this is the tab next to the Table Design tab on the ribbon).

(b) To add rows, click Insert Above or Insert Below and to add columns, click Insert Left or Insert Right.

3. To merge cells in a table, perform these tasks:

(a) Place your mouse cursor in the cell to merge.

(b) Right-click and choose Cell, then Merge Right or Merge Down, depending on whether you want to merge the cell with the cell on its right or with the cell below it.

4. To split cells in a table, perform these tasks:

(a) Place your mouse cursor in the cell you want to split.

(b) Right-click and choose Cell, then Split Cell Horizontally or Split Cell Vertically, depending on whether you want to split the cell into two columns or rows.

5. Right-click in a table cell, row, or column you want to delete. On the menu, click Delete Cells. To delete one cell, choose Shift cells left or Shift cells up. To delete the row, click Delete entire row.
