Once upon a time there lived a family comprising an old man and his old wife in the city of Ludhiana. The old couple was quite poor; but their son was their pride. He was an ideal son. He worked very hard to provide for the family. Both his parents had dedicated their lives to provide the best of facilities for their only son. In spite of meager resources they sent him to a reputed school. As a result they could never save enough for them.
Now they had grown old and usually remained ill. The boy had become a dashing young man now. He had done pretty well in his education. As a result the state Government had awarded him scholarship for further higher education. However, in order to provide for the medical expenses for the old parents, he worked after the college. He had seen his parents’ struggle and sacrifices they had made for his education.
This young man had no friends, no distractions; he always remained focused to take care of his old parents. He had only one goal – to serve his parents in the best possible manner. The love that the old, ill parents got from their son gave immense happiness and contentment to them. The neighbours also admired the young man. They often helped the family in cooking, washing, and cleaning.
The time kept on elapsing. Gradually the doctors declared the old man and woman had recovered fully. Everyone was amazed at the miracle. But they knew in their heart the love of their son had healed them. The young man also passed his college degree with flying colours and got a highly paid job in an MNC. The boy was married to an equally good girl. Now the boy and his newly wedded bride lived happily with the old man and woman.
