Write the structure of the product obtained when glucose is oxidised with nitric acid.

When glucose is oxidized with dil. nitric acid the product formed is glucaric acid. C H O --[O]--> C H O
As:
The product formed is Saccharic acid:
COOH - (CHOH) - COOHi.e. the -CHO group and the primary alcoholic group of the glucose molecule gets coverted yo -COOH group.
