NaAlH(OCH2CH2CH3)2 = Red-Al and LiGaH4
One of the oldest was HCo(CO)3, first made in the early 1930′s. (Not sure).
There's a lot of them, and some very general, like AlH3, LiAlH4 or borane (B2H6) and derivatives like NaBH4 and the more selective NaBCNH3 . You can use them depending on reduction potential and steric structure, for very selective reactions (even enatio-selective). There are many reducing enzymes with MeH, in the active sites, like FeNiH-reductases, heme, FeS — and other metallic, prosthetic groups.
