Do you mean the sum of first 50 consecutive natural numbers? There are many ways…

ie, 1+2+3+4+………………+48+49+50.

If we start adding the first & the last numbers

1+50= 51

2+49 = 51

3+ 48 = 51

4+ 47 = 51………..

This way if we continue.. Towards the end we get…

24 + 27 = 51

25 + 26 = 51

That shows, by adding them we get 51, 25 times.

So the total will be 51 * 25 = 1275 . ANS

[2] So we can frame a formula now, whenever , the sum of first ’n’ numbers are to be found out…

SUM = n/2 * (n+1) = 50/2*(50+1) = 25*51= 1275

[3] or, The sum of any ‘n’ numbers = Sn =

n/2 { 2a + (n-1)d} = 50/2 {(2+ 49*1}= 25*51= 1275
