Desire proples in hot pursuit of achieving something. In the poem FIRE and ICE, Robert Frost has compared FIRE with desire and ICE with hate.

According to the poet desire if human will be the first reason of the destruction of world. Like fire desire grows as it gets something little.

But the poet also tells that if the world will have to be destroyed twice then ICE will also help. Hate makes us numb towards others feelings similarly ICE makes our hands cold and numb.

Thus both desire and hate in disguise of FIRE AND ICE has power to destroy earth.
