The first part of "The sound of music" talks about Evelyn Glennie who was hard of hearing and could not hear anything ever since she was just eight years of age.
It was due to nervous impairment and damage which was sound found out when she was eleven years of age.
However she had a special fondness for music and for xylophone instrument in particular.
Ron Forbes was a percussionist who continued to give her moral support, when others did not support her.
It was in 1991 that she was awarded for her special qualities to sense and play xylophone.
