The role of the atmosphere in climate control are -
• It acts like a blanket covering the whole Earth.
• It keeps the temperature of Earth steady.
• It acts as bad conductor of heat thus prevents the sudden increase in temperature during the day as well as slows down the escape of heat into the outer space during night.
• The role of atmosphere on Earth, when compared with moon ( with no atmosphere), temperature
range varies at moon from - 1900C to 1100C. Although both lie at same distance from sun.
