The three laws of planetary motion as given by Kepler are
1) Law of orbits ( All planets revolve around sun elliptical paths)
2) Law of Area (Areal velocity remains constant)
3) Law of Periods ( Square of time period is proportional to dostance of planet from sun)
Newton concluded that necessarily centripetral force between sun and planet that acts towards sun acting as centre is provided by gravitational force. Thus he concluded that planets revolve in circular orbits.
