As in the motion of an object thrown upward the only acceleration is due to gravity which is in the opposite direction of the motion. Hence acceleration is negative and equal to acceleration due to gravity (g).
1) V = U -gT
2) S = UT - 1/2 gT^2
3) V^2 = U^2 - 2gT
1) V = U -gT
