4. acids have ph value less than seven while bases have ph value greater than seven.

example- acids: HCL(hydrochloric acid), Nitric acid, sulphuric acid(H2SO4)

bases: NaOH (sodium hydroxide) and calcium hydroxide (CaOH2)
