Using International system  :

The first period, called ones period, is formed with the first 3 digits of the number.   ( Counting from right side)

• The second period, called thousands period, is formed with the next 3 digits of the number.  

• The third period, called millions period, is formed with the digits after thousands.

and so on  ..

Using Indian system :

after that Each group of 2 Digits  

• The second period, called thousands period, is formed with the next two digits of the number.

• The fourth period, called crores period, is formed with the digits that come after lakhs.
