Answer:

A Town Mouse once visited a relative who lived in the country. For lunch the Country Mouse served wheat stalks, roots, and acorns, with a dash of cold water for drink. The Town Mouse ate very sparingly, nibbling a little of this and a little of that, and by her manner making it very plain that she ate the simple food only to be polite.

After the meal the friends had a long talk, or rather the Town Mouse talked about her life in the city while the Country Mouse listened. They then went to bed in a cozy nest in the hedgerow and slept in quiet and comfort until morning. In her sleep the Country Mouse dreamed she was a Town Mouse with all the luxuries and delights of city life that her friend had described for her. So the next day when the Town Mouse asked the Country Mouse to go home with her to the city, she gladly said yes.

When they reached the mansion in which the Town Mouse lived, they found on the table in the dining room the leavings of a very fine banquet. There were sweetmeats and jellies, pastries, delicious cheeses, indeed, the most tempting foods that a Mouse can imagine. But just as the Country Mouse was about to nibble a dainty bit of pastry, she heard a Cat mew loudly and scratch at the door. In great fear the Mice scurried to a hiding place, where they lay quite still for a long time, hardly daring to breathe. When at last they ventured back to the feast, the door opened suddenly and in came the servants to clear the table, followed by the House Dog.

The Country Mouse stopped in the Town Mouse's den only long enough to pick up her carpet bag and umbrella.

"You may have luxuries and dainties that I have not," she said as she hurried away, "but I prefer my plain food and simple life in the country with the peace and security that go with it."

Poverty with security is better than plenty in the midst of fear and uncertainty.

Answer:

This particular one is both a city mouse and a country mouse. In Aesop's Fables, a village mouse travels to the great city to enjoy all of its amenities but soon learns how expensive they are. In contrast to city life, which offers countless sensual delights but also serious risks, the novel depicts a simple, stable way of life.

Explanation:

They were cousins—a city mouse and a rural mouse. The rural mouse was plain and huddled up in a cosy log by a field of sunflowers. The mouse survived most days on a few wheat stalks and sunflower seeds since rural life is simple. He occasionally received cheese and bread crumbs after the farmer's dinner, which was a delight. He always had access to pure water anytime he became thirsty thanks to a fresh, bubbling brook adjacent to the log. Away from the bustle of the mechanised world and to get some fresh air, the town mouse would occasionally visit his country relative.

The simple country experience gave him a chance to unwind because he was used to eating extravagant varieties of food in the city. He then returned to the city ravenous for more.

The city mouse's cousin suggested that the country mouse come stay with him so that he could experience the city for himself rather than just hear about his adventures and stories. The country mouse had never been to the big city. The town mouse gladly accepted his cousin's invitation because, after all, he frequently gushed about how much better life was in the city than in the countryside. He wouldn't give up the joys of his town to settle for a relaxed existence with little to do, despite the calm and quiet of the country.

The rural mouse arrived at his cousin's house and was shocked by its enormity; it was a four-story structure with cast-iron railings, white stucco pillars, and enormous doors leading to impossibly long halls. The reflection of the crystal chandeliers on the ceiling twinkled on the brightly polished furnishings and wood floors. It was finally time for the country mouse to sample the delectable spread of food his cousin always boasted about after touring his opulent estate. The country mouse could only have imagined the gorgonzola cheese, cream and cakes, truffles, tender steak, and champagne.

The dining room was enormous, to put it mildly. The variety of food that had been left behind on the table caused the country mouse to exhale. The mice had a tonne of food to choose from, including cookies, jellies, meat cuts, fresh bread, and ice cream, while the humans had just finished eating dinner. They dove right in and submerged themselves in the sumptuous cuisine. The country mouse consumed the delectable pastries and luscious champagne, then stumbled around dazed. He had forgotten what it was like to have little most days or to starve occasionally and was having the time of his life with a belly full. The state of the globe is perfect!

The country mouse hears a disturbance at the opposite end of the dining room and sees his cousin run across the table as if his life depended on it before dragging him away. Turning around, he is horrified to see the largest, furriest cat he has ever seen pursuing him. Additionally, the overweight cat is clumsy and misses them at every bend and turn. A maid enters at the same time and smashes the floor with a long broom, intent on squashing the mice, just missing them. When they finally arrive at their hole in the skirting board at the end of the hallway, they narrowly avoid being clawed by the most ferocious animal that has ever existed.

HAHA! It was quite close! But didn't it pay off? The town mouse gleefully exclaims. The rural mouse is feeling queasy, but this time it's because of dread after nearly being crushed and clawed to death. He thinks to himself, "This isn't something a plain country mouse can live with every day," and departs the town after saying goodbye to his cousin.
