actually, stationary wave is the combination of two waves moving in opposite directions, each having the same amplitude and frequency.

when a string of length L is tied to two rigid support. and now after vibrating the string in middle , it vibrates with nodes at end and anti node in middle as shown in figure.

hence, maximum wavelength of stationary waves that can be produced it is 2L.
