Answer:

The value of x is 6 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :  2x, x + 10 and 3x + 2 are in A.P.

 Terms are in A.P, if common difference (d) of any two consecutive terms is same.

Let a1 =  2x , a2 = x + 10 , a3 = 3x + 2

a2 - a1 = a3 - a2

x + 10 – 2x = 3x + 2 – (x + 10)

x - 2x + 10 = 3x + 2 - x - 10

10 – x = 2x - 8

10 + 8 = 2x + x

18 = 3x

x = 18/3

x = 6

Hence, the value of x is 6 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Here if they are in a.p then

(x+10)-2x=3x+2-(x+10)

or,-x+10=3x+2-x-10

-x+x-3x=2-10-10

or, -3x=-18

or, x=6 (ans)
