The arithmetic mean is b

b = \frac{a + c}{2}

Here,

a= x + 2

b= 2x

c= 2x + 3

On substituting the values in the formula we get :

2x=x+2+2x+3/2

2x=3x+5/2

4x=3x+5

X=5
