1) x + 4 = 12

2) x - 9 = 8

3) 9x = 36    or   9 × x = 36

4) x ÷ 5 = 6  or   x/5 = 6

5) 9 + x = 54

6) 1/4x = 5   or   1/4 × x = 5

7) y ÷ 6 = 11 or  y/6 = 11

8) n - 9 = 27
