Acid reacts with metals to form salt and hydrogen gas.

Explanation:

Step 1 : explains what happens when acid reacts with metal.

When acid reacts with metals it forms salt and Hydrogen gas.

This is because the metals displace the hydrogen ion in the acid to form hydrogen gas.

Step 2 : Write the word equations.

I) dilute Sulphuric acid + Zinc granules —> Zinc Sulphate + Hydrogen gas.

2) Dilute Hydrochloric acid + Magnesium ribbon —> Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen gas.

3) Dilute Sulphuric acid + Aluminium powder —> Aluminium Sulphate + Hydrogen gas.

4) Dilute hydrochloric acid + Iron fillings — > Iron (ii) Chloride + Hydrogen gas.
